Any incentives or prizes at your table that you wish to contribute are welcome. Furthermore, we will be inviting the media to maximize your exposure. Table and chairs will also be provided.

8) "Don't ask me how I caught it! Ask me how I'm doing" presentations on Apr 24th & 28th
No community is too small, or too remote for hepatitis C and everyone deserves HCV information, confidential testing, treatment and support. The needs of someone living with hepatitis C are like the needs of the rest of the community - Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual.

Hepatitis C is a major cause of cirrhosis, liver cancer, liver transplant and liver failure. Following successful treatment, life-threatening complications may be prevented. Liver damage can be reversed if stopped in time.

Northern and remote communities are at increased HCV risk due to stigma and isolation, uncertain testing will be confidential, distance from treatment centres, lack of peer support, fear of disclosure consequences, inability to access transplant services and lack of accessible information.

Upcoming presentations: Apr 24th 9:30 - 10:30 am for community health representatives, and on April 28th from 9am - 12pm at the Salvation Army Drop-in Centre - everyone is welcome - information session and movie with lunch and snacks provided.

For more information and details please contact the Hepatitis C Education & Prevention Society's Cheryl Reitz at 250-360-4068 or 250-882-6024 or cherylreitz.hepcbc@gmail.com or visit www.hepcbc.ca
